Description

Tutorial to help those having trouble with drawing girls. I'm still learning myself, so this is a reflection of what I learned. (It isn't perfect, but what is?)

:bulletgreen:No part of the female body is exactly straight; there are always curves.
:bulletblue:Girls are usually about 6 heads tall, but that can easily vary.
:bulletpurple:The head is as wide as the rib cage (which you can draw as another "head" to help with the shape).
:bulletpink:When the arms are relaxed and down, they are slightly bent in and level with the crotch (in my case, the lowest point of the crotch is the highest point of the wrist). It is also where the midpoint of the body is.
:bulletred:If you draw a straight line from shoulder to shoulder, you get the collarbone.
:bulletyellow:Thighs can go as wide as the shoulders.
:bulletorange:Legs always curve in to the knees, and the lower half of the leg is smaller than the upper half.
:bulletblack:For sideview shape, torso tilts upwards and hips tilt downward. Connect a line between the two to get the tummy. Ribcage and lower tummy stick out, while upper tummy goes in.
:bulletwhite:Head leans forward slightly and there's a deep curve in the back.

Remember, the place where a child is kept is about where the back, waist, and upper tummy are at their narrowest.

Used 2 references for this, one being from here [link] and the other from a book. Thanks to both for helping me understand the female's body a lot better!

If I'm wrong on anything, please correct me so I'm not misleading anyone.

==Update==
Thanks to :iconkriraen: for correction on manga-real female differences.
